this scene is just golden because tony was never planning to reveal his identity as iron man. but right when blondie laughs and says ‘i never said you were a superhero’, she obviously hit a nerve and tony literally goes ‘alright, you wanna play? i can play’, LOOKS HER STRAIGHT FUCK IN THE EYE, AND TELLS THE WHOLE WORLD HE’S IRON MAN. A SUPERHERO.

please please please ignore the text on loki i literally looked for two days an couldn’t find this scene in gifset
everyone credits black widow with outsmarting loki in this scene because she gets out of him that he is planning to tear apart the hellcarrier using the hulk. She gets him talking, and his hubris lets slip what is really on his mind.
those who don’t make the argument that loki technically wasn’t outsmarted because revealing this to her eventually was the reason why it happened. which doesn’t work fr the tonyxreporter scene because, as you said, he wasn’t even planning on saying he was iron man- he just slipped
in conclusion, you cannot change the winner of the exact same scenario just because you like the character on the short end of the stick.

When Steve travels (and he does travel —New York might be his home state, but if he’s going to be some kind of national icon, he might as well get to know the people he’s representing), there is no power in the universe that can stop him from visiting every single Waffle House or equivalent truck-stop diner he comes across. He loves the food and the availability of it (in some places, there is a Waffle House at every highway exit, he loves the people, and he even enjoys the awful coffee.
