The first still from Toy Story Of Terror! It already screams BuzzxJessie! <3
It came from this article! :D
I just love this part: “Executive producer Galyn Susman said of the plot and what viewers can expect from the CGI production: “Bonnie is on a road trip to go see grandma with her mom and the toys are in the trunk. Mom gets a flat tire and they have to spend the night at a motel and all kinds of chaos ensues. We’ve gotten to see a lot of development in Woody and in Buzz and we felt it was Jesse’s turn to really show some growth.”
And this from the director…
“There was some concern early on about not making it too scary for kids. I think we’ve done a good job of balancing staying true to Toy Story and staying true to the genre. As far as adults are concerned, I’ve always thought that we make these movies for ourselves. I think it’s funny and like the other Toy Story films, I think there is plenty of stuff in there that only adults will get.”and this…
“This is the first time that they’ve been on a road trip away from the house, so we’re exploring the relationships and the things that might come up on a road trip with toys, some of whom have lived and worked together for years, while others have only just met,” MacLane says. “They definitely have a family dynamic that is fun to see now that they’re all together on one road trip.”
Stuff only adults will get? Exploring relationships? Family dynamic? So much potential!!!! :D
Let’s hope they don’t disappoint! So far they aren’t since Jessie is a main character in this! That alone has us so excited! If by small chance we don’t get any BuzzxJessie moments then that will be alright since we’ll have Jessie for 22 minutes. <3
I can only guess as to what “exploring relationships” and “Stuff only adults will get” means. Maybe they are hinting at something between Buzz and Jessie. :D
As always, I’m trying not to set my hopes too sky-high, just in case. :P But the director is the same as Small Fry, and the producer the same as Hawaiian Vacation, so I think it’s in good hands. I would hope we’d get something - even something little - because both of those shorts have shown them as together. And so if it’s about Jessie, therefore it has to involve Buzz too, somehow. Fingers crossed! :)
My hopes are always sky high! Lol, but I understand that you don’t want to be disappointed. I think it might be hard to have that happen this time since our cowgirl will be all over this Halloween special. It’s not some 5-7 minute short either. It’s like Pixar is finally giving us girls what we have been wanting… a Jessie focused short! On top of that they are spoiling us by making this short fit into a half hour time slot for tv. <3
Judging by the still image, Buzz and Jessie are already have a little moment. Maybe at some point in the short, something scary happens where Buzz feels the need to shield Jessie from any possible danger. Maybe Buzz goes missing and Jessie frantically tries to find him. That would be great! :)

We’re excited to announce “Toy Story of Terror,” a new animated short coming to ABC this Halloween!
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! :D
She is CLINGING to him. XD Well, so is Woody, but he’s a wuss.
DAY. MADE. Excuse me while I go and try to compose myself… ;P
Right?!
Forget day… our year has been made. The best part about this is the fact that it looks like this short might have Jessie front and center! :D
Pixar is finally giving us a Jessie short and it’s a full 22 minute special! <3Can we talk about the fact that a Combat Carl is going to be voiced by a guy named Carl? Heh. And I need to see Predator, too.
Kinda funny when you think about it. Also, the guy has a pretty good resume. I don’t think we would want to mess with him! Lol
Lol, yeah so you can get the references. I need to rewatch the movies too. I can’t wait to see this short! I hope we get some BuzzxJessie moments since this is Jessie focused by the sounds of it! If not then at least we get our favorite cowgirl anyway. <3
Yeah, pretty much. Also, because I’ve not seen it. Plus the fact that as Pixar Times notes, Angus MacLane “describes the short as influenced by several well-known horror films such as Psycho, Aliens, and Predator, but also states that they walked the line so that children wouldn’t run out of the room, frightened.” Seeing as that’s one of the influences, and I already have seen Psycho, AND Aliens is one of my favourite movies of all time. So I’m pretty happy about that.
Jessie focused and 22 minutes long and coming out in October and the fact that Aliens influenced it. And the fact that someone made a comment that Jessie is the special’s Ripley. Yeah, it’s gonna be pretty awesome.
Eeeeee, this all makes it much more exciting than what it already is. I can imagine the angst fics that will be popping around when the short is released. You can tell just by looking at the picture! Jessie and Woody look scared while Buzz (who also looks a bit spooked), assumes a defense pose.
Since this is about Jessie I think it’s safe to assume that our poor cowgirl might get put into a tough spot. I can see her being thrown by herself into a dark area where her anxiety might kick up a bit and she has to go through it without Buzz or Woody around. :(
Maybe this will be a good time to see something between the lovebirds. Buzz could comfort her when they are reunited. A little hug or holding her hand will keep us satisfied for weeks. <3
While it would be great and all if she ends up freaking out sans Buzz and Woody, I’d love to see her totally kick butt on her own and save both Buzz and Woody.
Maybe something from Homeward Bound, when Sassy is reunited with Chance and Shadow after nearly drowning in the river where they all rush to each other and stuff.
WHY IS ALL THE GREAT STUFF COMING OUT IN A FEW MONTHS.

If only we could see Buzz in this style…
In that dress? :P
I was going to lament not having Buzz in a dress but then I remembered Mrs. Nesbit so it’s okay.
But I still want him in that dress. Or a kilt.

If the Halloween short was also influenced by Aliens, and JESSIE is the Focus…
Wouldn’t that make Jessie the Short’s version of Ripley?
*Checks The Pixar Times article about the short*
He describes the short as influenced by several well-known horror films such as Psycho, Aliens, and Predator, but also states that they walked the line so that children wouldn’t run out of the room, frightened.
Aliens is one of my favorite films (and one of my favorite sequels!) and I fucking love Ellen Ripley so… GOD YESSSS. That would be amazing and awesome.
Do want.

First Image from the Toy Story Toon Halloween short!! I’m so friggin excited right now!! I’m just in love with them using Buzz to keep away the dark. /initiate fangirl mode
Here’s the synopsis:
What starts out as a fun road trip for the Toy Story gang takes an unexpected turn for the worse when the trip detours to a roadside motel. After one of the toys goes missing, the others find themselves caught up in a mysterious sequence of events that must be solved before they all suffer the same fate in this Toy Story of Terror.

Toy Story lives on! In October, ABC will air Toy Story of Terror, a 30-minute special that reunites the original voice cast from the Toy Story franchise, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively. From Pixar, Toy Story of Terror follows the adventures of the toys post-Toy Story 3, in which a fun road trip takes a very unexpected turn. Bonnie is on a road trip to go see grandma with her mom and the toys are in the trunk, executive producer Galyn Susman says. Mom gets a flat tire and they have to spend the night at a motel and all kinds of chaos ensues. Not only is it focused on Jessie… it’s also directed by Angus MacLane, who directed Small Fry. Small Fry had the best Buzz/Jessie moments in all three of the shorts. Here’s hoping! :D
I think our fangirl dreams are finally going to come true.
Jessie +darkness +horror +Buzz = massive amount of B/J fluff
