I am Ashley, a 24 year old counseling graduate student. I am a fangirl. My fandoms range from South Park, Toy Story, Bones, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Kim Possible, Harry Potter, and so on. I have a personal blog elsewhere. I also like redheads, but am not actually a redhead. I use British spellings sometimes despite not being British. Woody:  “Heh, whatd’ya know?  You don’t look so fat when they draw you that way.”
Woody’s face.  He must live to torture these two, even back then.
I can’t help myself.  Still on a Buzz/Jessie high today.

Woody, could you be any bigger of a troll, my goodness. LOL.
And I’m sure Buzz and Jessie pay him back. I think it’s my slight headcanon that they liked to bug the hell out of Woody and Bo when they being couple-y. Cue Bonnie’s room and he’s probably like payback now, folks. And Dolly’s like, “I think I’ll help, because why not.”

Yeah, in all fairness, I think Buzz and Jessie probably tortured Woody and Bo plenty too.  And I think Dolly would be a willing accomplice, helping Woody with payback.

Jessie more than Buzz, especially, but I think he would have joined in because of the company.
I can totally see it. Like, Woody and Bo like trying to have alone time and Buzz and Jessie purposely being loud and obnoxious and Buzz is all, “Oh, don’t mind us. etc”
And this is another topic, that I actually have a prompt for at Disney Kink. Because I thought the idea amusing like, last summer, heh.

Totally.  I’m sure there was quite a back-and-forth of teasing and interruptions.  ;)
I have Woody and Dolly messing with them a little in the fic (my first!) I’m writing at the moment.  It’s just too fun.  XD

Bo Peep was probably totally cool with it, while Woody’s like, “Cut it out” and Buzz or Jessie is just like, “Can’t cut it out. It’ll grow right back!” Bonus points if you read that in a certain mandrill’s voice. XD
Woody’s just like, “I can hear you!” Buzz’s reaction was perfection. :) I can just imagine the annoyance in his voice. XD

Bo probably tried to get him to leave Buzz and Jessie alone too.  I see her as encouraging them, trying to get them together.  Not that Woody doesn’t want them together - he just gets a kick out of antagonizing them.  ;)
YAY!  You read it!  :D  Glad you think so.  That part was so fun to write.  XD

Oh definitely! Bo probably was like, “Come on, cowboy, let’s leave those two alone.” And like, totally hoping Buzz and Jessie will get on with it. Plus, I think we all are fond of Woody being somewhat trolly in general. Plus, as the BLOSC-Adventure Begins beginning shows, he’s that in droves. Like, he just wouldn’t quit, lol.
And with Dolly, I like to think that eventually (maybe a few years post-TS3) Woody and Dolly will happen, and Buzz and Jessie totally were shipping them, with maybe Jessie apprehensive at first to do so because of her abandonment issues or even both of them having opposing views on the matter if it’s happened yet or not.

I’m not opposed to Woody/Dolly.  She’s got the right personality to keep him in check.  :)  And the guy has to move on.  He deserves someone too.  And Buzz and Jessie need another couple to hang out with other than the Potatoheads.  They can’t be all that fun.

I agree. He’s gonna have to move on eventually. He can’t mourn Bo Peep forever; I can’t imagine that she’d want him to. And Dolly would so keep in him check, and call him names of characters from Happy Days.
And yeah, that’s true. I can’t imagine it’d be fun doubledating with the Potato Heads. And whilst I’m sure Rex and Trixie are fun, they’d probably be like, VIDEO GAME BATTLE.

I forgot about Rex and Trixie…if they actually ever become a couple.  He’d be even more impossibly nervous than Buzz, so good luck with that Trixie.  :P  And yeah, they’d only be up for video games - because Rex would be afraid of almost any movie they’d want to watch.   But at least that would be be more fun than Mr. P’s sarcasm and Mrs. P’s nagging.  Plus, I can see her asking them squirmy uncomfortable questions about their private life.  O.o

That’s true, poor Rex, and poor Trixie. Hopefully she can help him come out of his shell. I hope they don’t watch Jurassic Park. Unless Andy watched that in his childhood (possible, Toy Story takes place a few years after JP came out).
Oh goodness, Mrs. P totally would. And Mr. P would be like, “Why would you ask that.” And it’d be just awkward for everyone.

Jurassic Park… Rex would pass out.  :P
That would make a great fic, a failed double date between Lightyears and Potatoheads.  Horrible uncomfortable personal questions asked by Mrs. P, Buzz and Jessie being all shocked and awkward (especially Buzz), Mr. P all disgusted… teehee.  XD

I would read that fic.

This scene is really blurry, even in the movie, but anyway… First they’re looking at each other, then she reaches up and appears to touch his arm.  Maybe they’re talking about what just happened?  And agreeing that now they’re together?  XD

And the best part is that they’re totally in the background during this scene. Pixar, your use of stuff in the background is amazing. I think you could watch Toy Story 3 just to see what was happening in background actions.
And I could see that. Because Buzz looks tense in the first one and in the second one, he looks relaxed. Hehe. :)

Exactly, it’s their own little semi-private moment.  I adore Pixar for their attention to subtle little details.  Half of the fun of their movies is looking for all the stuff that’s hidden.
And yeah.  Cause he’d probably be terrified to bring it up, for fear it was just an in-the-moment thing when they thought they were done for.  But Jessie assures him it wasn’t.  Hence his boldness a few minutes later to take her hand in front of all their friends.  XD

It’s like “Where’s Waldo” only more fun.
There’s something really great about that bold move of taking her hand in front of everyone. Like, just basically saying whatever the future holds, it’ll be with her. And that’s all he needs to know.

And it’s significant that he’s the one to make the move and take her hand.  Because if Jessie did it, nobody would think that much of it.  But for him to do it, it’s making a statement, to the other toys and to her. No turning back now.  :)

Agreed. Plus, it was really up to Buzz, it seems to take the initiative with Jessie. Lee Unkrich makes a comment in the commentary at the toy box scene how Buzz hadn’t had the gumption to be with Jessie in all those years. He doesn’t comment about if Jessie’s hesitant or anything like that. So, yeah, it was definitely all up to Buzz. Jessie, she probably knew how she felt about him but maybe wanted him to get to that point as well on his own. If you look at his face in the incinerator, it’s sad when he looks at her, but it also feels like he’s apologetic too.

Their faces in that scene… so much emotion conveyed in a just a few seconds.  I can imagine that experience snapped him into reality about how stupid he’d been to hold back his true feelings for her.  All the years they wasted.  And I imagine that from there on out, there would be no more regrets.  I also wonder how that Sunnyside/dump experience affected their view on loyalty to their owner.  Sure, they love Bonnie, but I’m sure they learned from Woody’s experience with Bo too.  I think they’d value staying together now above all else, even if it breaks a few toy-code rules.

Ok I went to re-watch this part. The part where Slinky goes “I’d like to loosen his stitches” you see him turn towards her. So ya know he’s either A) just looking at her or B) saying something quick to her. (Plus Bullseye is looking at them too XD)

It wouldn’t take them long to say what they need to say.  “I love you” and “together” are quick little statements that could have even been made while the rest of the group was talking.  XD

All of my feels.
Basically it could happen like this: Buzz says: “I love you.”
And her, just like Leia Organa, she says, “I know. Me too.”
“Together?”
“Together.”
Short, quick, to the point.

Agreed.  :D  Cause they’re both pretty straightforward, not all mushy like Barbie and Ken.  And after all that time, that’s all that really needs to be said anyways.  So then when he says “together’ in front of the others, it means even more.  <3

Well said. And I can’t imagine them going through so much ridiculous trouble for a first kiss, or anything like that, like Barbie and Ken. I could see a lot of their relationship milestones just sort of… happening. No big-to-do, no real planning. Maybe a question of “Are you sure?” or something but nothing like, “Oh, first kiss at a beach on vacation.”

I could see their first kiss happening that first night at Bonnie’s, just something sweet - I mean, they did have a pretty stressful couple of days there - but still electrifying.  And anything beyond that, Buzz would be all concerned about being gentlemanly, asking, “are you sure you’re ready?” and Jessie would be like, “Buzz, it’s been ten years, I’m good.”  XD

Well said. And perfection.

Agreed. Love this conversation.^^

I think like 10 new story ideas popped in my head, just from reading this. ;P

To the Word Documents, yes? ;)

One of my favourite things in Toy Story 3 is right after Buzz is switched to Demo, and he lets out that last cry of “No!” and you cut to the Caterpillar room (right about 43:30, blu-ray). Look at Andy’s toys.

We have the Potato Heads, Hamm, Slinky, and the Aliens all either watching or playing a game of dominos. Rex is quietly being nervous in the background by himself.

And then we have Jessie not far from the rope Buzz used to get out of the room and is right by that door, too (Bullseye is by her side), just… waiting. Like, she can’t bear to join in on that game at all, because all she can think about is if Buzz is okay or not (though I would imagine that she probably would not suspect anything of Lotso at this point yet) and hoping he’ll be back soon with any sort of news. And maybe she’s contemplating climbing the rope to go find him.

And she’s the first one to hear something (and she gasps at the sound).

And that sound is Buzz’s “No’s”.

Lots of feels, yes.

Holy crap. Right at the beginning of the horrific playtime (at 32:30 on the blu-ray), there’s a shot that shows you where Jessie (and Bullseye) are in relation to Buzz and it’s like, INCHES.

And I was thinkin for like practically two years, oh, she’s across the room maybe. LOL, NO, INCHES AWAY.

Oh, definitely. I can’t imagine that Buzz would wanna waste any time he has with her, like, “I’ve waited ten years. That’s long enough.”
Considering how Buzz was so completely adamant about they stay together at Sunnyside, (He says it at least twice, once to Lotso and once to Woody), I can’t imagine that he’d change that viewpoint too easily, or at all. And she would definitely feel the same way. She’s been too affected by her past experiences to not feel like that. I mean, I’m sure they love Bonnie, but they love each other more.

I see him, at this point at the end of TS3, totally committed.  They already know each other, what’s to wait for?  No more fear, no more holding back.
They’ve discovered that owners can come and go in their lives, but what they have together is forever.  And they’re not gonna let that slip away, not again.

Just everything about that is perfect. I wish I had something substantial to add aside from my tears. Nothing like crying over your OTP at 10:30 in the morning, eh, Tumblr?
